Heres a tutorial I put together on how I made my HUNK gas mask (RE4 version) incase it is of use to anyone. I dont see many people who bother to make his vpu so I showed how I made mine here. I took pics of each step as I went so it should be clear enough. If you want to ask anything though then go ahead

I am doing one on how I made Vector's mask too. Might wait til I work out the lighting for it first though but I could always add that on later if I need to

Comment/fav if you use this. If you follow it to make your own let me see a pic when you're done, I'd like to see how it turns out :P

I'm trying to do the VPU on my mask out of a Pringles can which works great. However I've come across a problem in finding a strainer like the one you have shown above. Where'd you get one like that?

That was the problem I couldnt find one either. Most basic type you can get but cant get it anywhere. My mum had one so I used that

im doing this cosplay myself for london this year i need to make the vpu and yours is the best i have seen but what is the tape you used to coat the strainer and tin?

Thank you means alot to hear that. Its just double sided sticky tape (sellotape) as it needs to stick to both the tin and the mask it needs to be sticky on both sides. Use as much as possible so theres less chance of any bits falling off. I just like things to be removable but if you're not concerned by that then you could just hot glue the whole thing on or something to make it stronger and more permanent than mine is

Your tut is a bit wrong, unfortunately.. FM12 does not have flat lenses - the are slightly convex instead, which makes applying tint harder.

But, if you have any ideas on how to non-destructively remove the lenses (I was unable to figure out any way), be sure to tell me :)

I wouldnt know I dont have one. Neither are mine on this, as I said get a piece of plastic the right size and its the same thing as if they were flat to begin with

Again I wouldnt know when I dont have one, if I had it in front of me maybe I could. I dont know how similar it is to an S10 but these are easy to get off if you know what you're doing. Its getting the outer rim back on thats the only hard part for me so I just left them off

:pat: It's OK, just felt a need to point this out.

And I'm not sure either, since I do not own a S10 :noes: (only a FM12). I'm not sure which way to start - the outer rims seem pretty sturdy, and so does the interior.

I thought mine was too, I saw no way of getting the inner rim out. The outer is simple enough you can just pull it off really. Couldnt figure out the inner at all. Turned out to be a invisible rim on the inner rim I couldnt even see. Just got a small flathead screwdriver and messed around with it til I managed to find the rim and prise it off then the lens just fall out. I can try show the process if you want, no idea if its the same or similar for an FM12 or not
